Former BBC Host Questioned by Police Over Sexual Assault Allegations

A former BBC host has been questioned by police after a woman accused him of sexually assaulting her on his programme. The star, believed to be a household name, was interviewed under caution last month regarding historic acts of unwanted sexual touching on set between 2005 and 2006.

The man denies the claims, with sources saying he was 'stunned' to learn of the investigation. Police confirmed: 'On Thursday, 14 May, a man was interviewed under caution. We remain in contact with the woman, and she continues to be supported by officers. Enquiries remain ongoing, and no arrests have been made at this stage.'

A source told The Sun that the presenter is cooperating with police but rejects the accusations. 'Police have taken her complaint very seriously. The presenter has not been arrested at this stage – but if he is, and if he's charged, it will be a real bombshell.'

The BBC was not his employer; he was engaged by an independent studio that produced a series for the BBC. The corporation declined to comment on an ongoing police matter.

This comes months after radio star Scott Mills was dismissed from his Radio 2 breakfast slot following historic allegations of sexual offences against a teenager. Mills is reportedly taking legal action against the BBC, with a friend saying: 'Scott is devastated, but he is also furious. He has lost not just his job but also something he loved over a police investigation which was dropped many years ago.'
