Aussie Actor Goran Kleut Charged With Stalking Ex-Partner

Hollywood Actor Accused of Intimidation and Property Damage

A prominent Australian actor with credits in major Hollywood productions including the Mad Max franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Star Wars is facing serious criminal allegations. Goran Kleut, 51, has been charged with stalking and intimidating his former partner and is accused of intentionally damaging her property, specifically a chair.

Court Proceedings and Alleged Incident

Kleut did not attend a hearing at Newtown Local Court on Thursday morning concerning an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO). The lawyer representing his alleged victim, who has not been named, suggested his absence was likely because he may not have been formally served a court attendance notice. The AVO was originally lodged by police on the alleged victim's behalf following an incident reported to have occurred between 7:45 pm and 8:00 pm on October 15 in the Randwick area of Sydney's eastern suburbs.

Court documents reveal that police apprehended Kleut at 8:30 pm on the same day. He was subsequently taken to Surry Hills Police Station. Alongside the AVO, he was formally charged with two offences: stalking or intimidating with intent to cause fear of physical harm and intentionally or recklessly destroying or damaging property. The property charge relates specifically to a chair belonging to the alleged victim.

Goran Kleut has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Bail Conditions and Upcoming Hearings

The actor was released on bail under strict conditions. He must not contact the alleged victim or anyone she has a personal relationship with. The bail terms also explicitly forbid him from assaulting, threatening, harassing, or intimidating her. Furthermore, he is prohibited from intentionally or recklessly damaging any of her property, including any animals in her possession.

The recent court mention was intended to discuss a variation to the AVO, but this could not proceed in Kleut's absence. The matter has been adjourned until November 20. A separate, two-hour hearing to try the criminal charges has been scheduled for February 23.

In a related development, The Daily Mail reported that his profile has been removed from the website of his agent, RMK. The publication sought comment from the agency.

Goran Kleut, who grew up in Sydney, has been a working actor since 2005. His breakout role was as Lampay Fay in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, though he was uncredited. He has since appeared in a string of high-profile films such as The Great Gatsby, Hacksaw Ridge, and Alien: Covenant, where he played a Xenomorph. More recently, he featured as The Octoboss in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.
