Woman Arrested in Indiana Over Alleged Assault on Fleetwood Mac Legend Lindsey Buckingham
A 55-year-old woman has been taken into custody in Indiana following accusations of a disturbing attack on former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham. Michelle Dick is alleged to have thrown an unknown substance at Buckingham on 25 March, sparking a multi-count criminal case in Los Angeles.
Multiple Criminal Charges Filed in Los Angeles
Dick faces a total of seven criminal counts, including serious allegations such as criminal threats and battery. The charges extend beyond the March incident, with additional accusations of assault with a deadly weapon involving a motor vehicle and vandalism of Buckingham's vehicle in a separate event on 19 March.
This arrest comes after Buckingham had previously secured a five-year restraining order against Dick, citing a prolonged history of alleged stalking, harassment, and a false 911 call that resulted in Buckingham being handcuffed by authorities.
Background of the Stalking Allegations
Dick has reportedly claimed that Buckingham is her 'birth father,' a statement Buckingham has consistently denied. The alleged stalking and harassment have been ongoing for years, according to court documents, culminating in the recent assault accusations.
Currently, Dick is awaiting extradition to California to face the charges. The case highlights the severe impacts of stalking and the legal measures taken to protect public figures from such threats.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incidents, with Buckingham's team emphasizing the importance of the restraining order in this context. The music community and fans have expressed concern over the safety of the renowned artist.
