A university student allegedly murdered by his housemate had his 'whole life ahead of him', his heartbroken family has declared in an emotional tribute. Jamie Collins, aged 21, was discovered deceased in the garden of a residential property located in Filton, near Bristol, during the early morning hours of April 9.
Arrest and Court Proceedings Following Tragic Discovery
Law enforcement officers swiftly arrested fellow student Zack Coughlan, 23, who resided with Mr Collins, on Sunday. Coughlan was subsequently charged with murder and made an appearance before Bristol Crown Court on Wednesday. He has been remanded into custody pending his next court hearing, with a trial date scheduled for October 12 and an estimated duration of two weeks.

The family of Mr Collins, who hailed from Swansea and was pursuing a robotics degree at the University of the West of England, expressed that he was on a path toward 'a hugely successful future'. Our Jamie was a bright, kind, gentle and unassuming young man with his whole life ahead of him.'
They further revealed that he was eagerly anticipating the completion of his university journey and had plans to return home to Swansea within a matter of weeks.
