Slender Man Stabber Morgan Geyser Arrested After Fleeing Care Home
Slender Man stabber Morgan Geyser arrested after escape

Morgan Geyser, the woman infamous for the 2014 Slender Man stabbing, has been arrested after cutting off her ankle monitor and fleeing her Wisconsin care home with her transgender partner.

Dramatic Arrest Captured on Bodycam

The 23-year-old sparked a multi-state manhunt after escaping her group home in Madison, Wisconsin on Saturday night. She was apprehended the following day in Posen, Illinois, alongside her 43-year-old partner Chad 'Charly' Mecca.

Bodycam footage from the arrest shows Geyser throwing an emotional tantrum, refusing to provide her name to officers and demanding to say goodbye to her lover. At one point, she told police to "just Google me" when questioned about her identity.

"I did something really wrong," Geyser admitted to officers during the arrest, while pleading for Mecca's release. She insisted her partner had no knowledge of her criminal history, stating: "She doesn't know what I did."

Notorious Past Crime

Geyser earned national notoriety in 2014 when, at just 12 years old, she and her friend Anissa Weier lured their sixth-grade classmate Payton Leutner into Wisconsin woods and stabbed her 19 times. The brutal attack was intended to appease the fictional horror character Slender Man.

Miraculously, Leutner survived the attack by crawling out of the woods where a cyclist found her. Both girls claimed they needed to kill their friend to become Slender Man's "proxies" and protect their families from the character's wrath.

Geyser eventually pleaded guilty to first-degree intentional homicide in 2018 as part of a plea deal that spared her prison time. Instead, she was committed to a Wisconsin psychiatric ward for 40 years.

Controversial Release and Recapture

In a controversial decision last July, Geyser was granted conditional release after serving just 25% of her sentence, against prosecutors' warnings. She was placed in a group home with an ankle monitor, which Mecca revealed was cut off with scissors during their escape.

The pair told police they intended to reach Nashville, Tennessee, but were arrested after locals reported them loitering outside a building in Posen.

During Tuesday's court appearance, Geyser signed extradition papers to return to Wisconsin, where officials confirmed she would lose her conditional release status.

Waukesha County District Attorney Lesli Boese stated: "Her alleged actions this past weekend only reinforce our position that a conditional release is not appropriate at this time."

Mecca received citations for criminal trespassing and obstructing identification before being released, telling officers she "stood by" their escape attempt.
