The heartbroken family of Noah Campbell, a 13-year-old boy killed in a devastating car crash in Flitwick, has paid an emotional tribute, describing how his loss has "left a hole in our lives that will remain forever." Emergency services were called to Greenfield Road in Flitwick at 11.50pm on Friday after a collision involving a car and three teenage boys—two on a bicycle and one on a scooter. Noah Campbell tragically died at the scene, while two other boys were rushed to hospital with serious injuries. The driver fled the scene, but a significantly damaged blue BMW was later discovered on a nearby street.
In a statement released through Bedfordshire Police, Noah's family expressed their profound grief, highlighting his love for sports and family. "Above all else, Noah cherished spending time with his friends and family; they were the heart of his world," they said. He was an accomplished sportsman, excelling in football, rugby, cricket, and athletics, and enjoyed attending matches with his father.
Charges and Legal Proceedings
Jamie Fountain, 24, of Fir Tree Close, Flitwick, has been charged with causing death by careless driving, causing death by careless driving while over the legal limit for alcohol and drugs, two counts of causing serious injury by careless driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident, failing to report an accident, and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
Ellie Ireland, 23, of Wingate Drive, Ampthill, Bedfordshire, faces a charge of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. Both individuals have been remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear at Luton Magistrates' Court.
