Eminem's Former Spouse Kimberly Scott Faces Legal Charges Following Alleged Intoxicated Driving Incident

Kimberly Scott, the 51-year-old ex-wife of renowned rapper Eminem, is reportedly confronting criminal charges in Michigan after an alleged car crash that occurred while her teenage son and other passengers were in the vehicle. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Scott has been charged with two misdemeanors: operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failure to stop or identify after causing property damage.

Attorney Responds to Allegations and Potential Arrest

Scott's attorney, Michael Smith, informed the publication that his client had not been arrested as of Tuesday and claimed he was unaware of any active warrant for her arrest. However, Smith defended Scott as 'a good person, a beautiful human being' and described the situation as unfortunate. He added that she would voluntarily turn herself in if an arrest warrant is issued.

Details of the Alleged Crash Sequence

Sources with direct knowledge indicated that the incident took place around 8 p.m. ET on Monday, February 16. Scott, who had reportedly achieved sobriety after years of battling addiction, was said to have left her home with her teenage son, Parker, and three of his friends for a shopping trip. The outing was abruptly interrupted when Scott allegedly collided with a parked car on the street.

Instead of stopping, Scott reportedly continued driving, abandoning the shopping excursion and returning to her residence. Upon arriving home, she allegedly crashed a second time while pulling into her driveway, failing to stop and slamming into her garage door.

Vehicle Damage and Police Response

A photo obtained by TMZ from Monday showed Scott's white Range Rover with significant damage after the garage collision. The vehicle exhibited a smashed passenger-side headlight, and the bumper was damaged and partially detached. It remains unclear which crash caused the majority of the damage.

According to the publication, a neighbor who witnessed the crash contacted the police. After authorities arrived, Scott was taken to a hospital for unspecified injuries and was discharged early on Tuesday morning.

Background on Kimberly Scott's Relationship with Eminem

Scott's life has often been marked by controversy, particularly during her tumultuous relationships with Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers III. The couple first met in 1987, began dating later, and married in 1999. Their initial marriage ended in divorce in 2001, but they reunited and remarried in 2006, only to separate again later that year.

In 1995, Scott and Eminem welcomed their daughter, Hailie Jade Scott, now 30 years old. Scott later had her son Parker with another partner, and she and her then-boyfriend, Eric Hartter, had a child named Stevie Laine Scott in 2002, between her relationships with Eminem. The rapper adopted Stevie in 2005 after reuniting with Scott. Hartter passed away in 2019.

Eminem also adopted Alaina Marie Scott, now 32, who is the daughter of Scott's sister Dawn. He adopted her in the early 2000s, and Dawn, who had struggled with drug addiction for years, died in 2016.
