Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has issued a strong condemnation of what he described as a "reckless" Iranian drone and missile attack on a vital oil refinery in Kuwait. The assault occurred overnight as the Middle East conflict entered its fifth week, with Tehran targeting multiple locations across the region.
Diplomatic Response and Military Deployment
In a direct conversation with Kuwait's Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, Starmer confirmed the immediate deployment of Britain's Rapid Sentry air defence system to Kuwait. This ground-based short-range missile launching weapon is designed to protect both Kuwaiti and British personnel and interests in the area.
