Sharon Osbourne Unveils Plans for Ozzy Osbourne Biopic Following Emotional BRITs Tribute
Sharon Osbourne has exclusively revealed to the Daily Mail that she is planning a biopic to chronicle the colourful life of her late rock star husband, Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away last summer. The TV legend, aged 73, expressed feeling 'blessed' to have shared 47 years with him and now aims to bring his 'fascinating' story to the big screen.
BRITs 2026 Celebration and Tribute Performance
Speaking at Sony Music's BRITs 2026 afterparty held at Soho House in Manchester, Sharon stated, 'I want to bring Ozzy's life story to the big screen, he lived a very fascinating life. I think that would be great.' While she is committed to creating this film tribute, she admitted uncertainty about who will portray Ozzy in the biopic.
The BRIT Awards featured a heartfelt tribute to the rock legend, including messages from Dolly Parton and longtime collaborator Zakk Wylde. Sharon reflected on this, saying, 'Ozzy adored Dolly [Parton], she sang many times on Ozzy's birthday, she would send him messages singing Happy birthday from Dolly.'
Robbie Williams' Phenomenal Performance
Robbie Williams, 52, delivered an incredible performance with members of Ozzy's band, shortly after Sharon and their daughter Kelly gave a heartfelt speech honouring the late star as he received the Lifetime Achievement Award. Sharon remarked, 'It was just touching to have Ozzy's friends to sing for him. Robbie and Zack were his true best friends. Robbie was a true shapeshifter on stage.'
BRITs viewers praised Robbie's tribute on social media, with comments such as 'He was phenomenal!!!' and 'This performance was on fire!' Many hailed Sharon for masterminding the tribute, noting it was a fitting homage to the Prince of Darkness.
Sharon's Grief and Family Tributes
Opening up about her grief since losing the Black Sabbath star last year, Sharon added, 'Over the last few months I told myself how blessed I was to have him in my life and to have it so long with him. Some people lose their love of their life after a few years, but I had him for 47 years. It's like, come on, get yourself together.'
At the event, Sharon and Kelly wore sweet tributes to Ozzy: Sharon sported a bat-shaped brooch he always wore, while Kelly donned a crucifix owned by him. Sharon also shared that being a grandmother is 'the whole reason to keep going' following Ozzy's death, as son Jack prepares to welcome his fifth child.
Lifetime Achievement Award Acceptance
During the award ceremony, Sharon and Kelly made a heartfelt speech in honour of Ozzy, introduced by Dolly Parton via a pre-recorded message. Sharon described her husband as 'The most humble egomaniac you could ever meet' and accepted the award on his behalf, saying, 'I'm honoured to accept this award from my gorgeous husband, this Lifetime Achievement Award. God knows, I wish he was here to accept it himself.'
She highlighted Ozzy's journey from a working-class neighbourhood in Birmingham to global fame, noting his resilience and pride in his roots. Kelly emotionally thanked the audience, saying, 'Thank you for loving my father as much as we do,' and humorously added support for his football team, Aston Villa, which drew playful boos from the Manchester crowd.
Event Highlights and Attendees
The exclusive afterparty saw notable guests including Mark Ronson, who DJed, and Dua Lipa dancing on the floor. Other attendees were former Little Mix member JADE with boyfriend Jordan Stephens, Vernon Kay, and Noel Gallagher, who celebrated his Songwriter of the Year award with family.
Ozzy Osbourne died in July last year at age 76, just two weeks after performing a farewell concert in his hometown of Birmingham. His legacy continues to be celebrated through events like the BRITs and now, with Sharon's planned biopic, his story will reach new audiences.
