Netflix has unveiled a first look at its upcoming documentary series on Kylie Minogue, offering an 'intimate' glimpse into the life of the Australian pop star. The three-part series, titled KYLIE, sees the 57-year-old open her personal archives and reflect on a career that has captivated multiple generations.
Directed by Emmy and BAFTA Award-winner Michael Harte, known for Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie and BECKHAM, the series is produced by John Battsek's Ventureland, the team behind WHAM! and BECKHAM. The first look image shows Minogue sitting in a deck chair, wrapped in a cream jumper and lilac scarf.
The documentary explores how Minogue reshaped pop music, from her breakthrough role as Charlene in Neighbours to selling over 80 million records. The synopsis states: 'Leaning into a lifetime caught on home movie cameras, personal photographs and new interviews with Kylie herself, it also shows the woman behind the hits – and how she has faced public scrutiny, personal loss and illness with grit and grace.'
Footage includes home movies, personal photographs, and new interviews with Minogue, as well as insights from friends, family, and collaborators such as Dannii Minogue, Jason Donovan, Nick Cave, and Pete Waterman. Netflix has not yet announced a release date for the series.
