King Charles concluded a historic state visit by Nigeria's President on Thursday, bidding farewell at Windsor Castle before heading to the Seven Sisters National Nature Reserve in Seaford. The monarch was seen smiling while enjoying a cup of tea at a reception with local community members, marking a relaxed end to the two-day diplomatic event.
The King walked 2km along the King Charles III England Coast Path at the newly opened nature reserve, the 13th of 25 national nature preserves he has committed to opening or expanding by 2028. This milestone means Charles has reached the halfway point of his environmental pledge.
Queen Camilla attended Wednesday's State Banquet wearing several dazzling diamonds, though notably missing some key pieces. Meanwhile, the Prince of Wales received a surprise compliment during a visit to Bournemouth on Thursday, and the Prince and Princess of Wales released a new portrait taken by British-Nigerian photographer Christianah Ebenezer ahead of the state banquet.
In other royal news, King Charles will mark the Royal Maundy Service in Wales this year, the first time since 1982. A poll for Dennis the Menace's 75th anniversary named the cheekiest royal, and it was revealed that the King reportedly keeps staff on their toes with a playful gnome at Highgrove Gardens.
