Jeff Jarrett Reveals Taylor Swift's Support After Wife's Death

Wrestling icon Jeff Jarrett has shared a deeply personal story about his unexpected connection with global superstar Taylor Swift, revealing how the singer provided crucial support to his family during their most difficult period.

A Friendship Forged in Hendersonville

During a recent interview with OutKick, the WWE Hall of Famer discussed living in the same Tennessee city as a teenage Swift. Both resided in Hendersonville after Swift's family relocated from Pennsylvania.

Host Chad Withrow highlighted their connection during the introduction, noting Hendersonville's dual claim to fame. "I know Hendersonville as the home of Double J, Jeff Jarrett," Withrow said. "I'm sure others know Hendersonville as the home of some pop star named Taylor Swift."

Swift's Role as Babysitter and Comforter

Jarrett responded with both humor and sincerity. "She was my babysitter! All kidding aside, she was very good to my girls when my first wife passed away," the wrestler revealed.

Withrow confirmed the surprising truth: "This is true, by the way! Taylor Swift was a babysitter for Double J's kids."

Jarrett elaborated on their relationship, clarifying financial arrangements while emphasizing Swift's genuine kindness. "I can assure you this, she has never been on my payroll! But no, she's very good and her family were very good to me and my kids."

The wrestling legend noted that his daughters even appeared in Swift's 2010 music video for the song "Mine," further cementing their special bond.

A Christmas Visit During Dark Times

In a previous interview with TMZ last September, Jarrett provided more details about Swift's compassionate actions during his family's crisis.

"When my wife passed away, Taylor would come around, and was really good with the girls," Jarrett recalled. "It was Christmas of 2006. My first wife was really ill with breast cancer. She passed away about five months after."

A mutual friend suggested Swift visit the grieving family. "Obviously, like every little girl in America, my daughters were big Taylor fans," Jarrett explained. "Her songs had just kind of broke but she was the hometown girl so she broke a lot quicker here in town than around the world."

An Impromptu Three-Hour Performance

What began as a simple visit turned into an unforgettable musical experience. "She came over and didn't bring her guitar in. She actually ran back home that day because the girls wanted her to sing and play," Jarrett shared.

"Taylor played about three hours and it ended up probably 35 or 45 people at the end of it," he added, describing how the intimate gathering grew as word spread through the neighborhood.

From Babysitter to Global Superstar

Jarrett humorously acknowledged Swift's current status compared to his own. "But Taylor I think is the most famous Hendersonville personality. I'll happily be a distant whatever from her."

The wrestling great even joked about potentially attending Swift's upcoming wedding to Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, which is believed to be scheduled for June. "A very hardcore fan told me that there are odds on that," Jarrett quipped. "Maybe I could get a little back-end money if I can get the invite list."

Swift's Continuing Journey

Swift and Kelce announced their engagement last August, though wedding details have remained scarce since then. Meanwhile, Kelce is expected to announce his plans to continue playing in the NFL in coming days, having left the door open to retirement at the end of the 2025 season.

Jarrett's revelation provides a touching glimpse into Swift's character long before she became one of the world's most famous entertainers, showing how she used her emerging talent to comfort a grieving family in her hometown.
