Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness confirmed the deployment, stating that approximately 200 personnel will join the multinational mission. The contingent will include military specialists and police officers trained in specialised operations.
"We have a moral duty to support our Caribbean neighbour during this time of extreme crisis," Holness declared during a press briefing. "The situation in Haiti not only threatens regional stability but represents a humanitarian emergency that demands collective action."
