Intruder Disrupts BRIT Awards Performance in Chaotic Incident

A live performance at the prestigious BRIT Awards was thrown into chaos when an unauthorised individual stormed the stage during the ceremony. The intruder forcefully pushed an act before being swiftly removed by security personnel, causing a brief but dramatic interruption to the televised event.

Manchester Hosts Inaugural Ceremony at Co-op Live Arena

The awards show, hosted by Jack, marked a historic move to a new venue, taking place for the first time at the Co-op Live in Manchester on Saturday night. This relocation signified a significant shift for the long-running music awards, traditionally held in London.

Confirmed performers for the evening included a diverse lineup:

  • Olivia Dean
  • Wolf Alice
  • EJAE
  • Audrey Nuna
  • REI AMI

Additional artists such as Alex Warren, Mark Ronson, ROSALÍA, SOMBR, and RAYE were also scheduled to appear. Notably, Mark Ronson was set to receive an award for his outstanding contribution to music, while Noel Gallagher was due to be honoured with a songwriting award.

Emotional Tributes Planned for Music Legends

The ceremony featured poignant memorials for recently deceased music icons. A highlight was a tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, the Black Sabbath frontman who passed away seven months ago at the age of 76.

Curated by his wife, Sharon Osbourne, the performance involved a special arrangement of ‘No More Tears’, the title track from Ozzy’s multi-million selling 1991 album. The tribute boasted an impressive lineup of British and international talent, including former band members Adam Wakeman, Robert Trujillo, Tommy Clufetos, and Zakk Wylde. Robbie Williams fronted the supergroup, having been personally invited by Sharon to participate in this emotional moment.

Another significant honour was planned for Stone Roses bassist Gary ‘Mani’ Mounfield, who died suddenly last November at 63. Tim Burgess of The Charlatans was primed to deliver an emotional speech about his dear friend and mentor.

A source revealed: “Tim is set to present the In Memoriam section, but before he does so, he is primed to talk about Mani. The fact that Mani was from Manchester too – and the awards is being held there for the first time – means it will be a really special moment. Mani will then feature heavily in the section, as will other greats we have lost including Ozzy Osbourne.”

Top Nominees and Pre-Ceremony Buzz

Ahead of the event, Olivia Dean and Lola Young led the nominations with five each, closely followed by Sam Fender with four nominations, building on his recent Mercury Prize success. The ceremony promised a night of celebration, remembrance, and unexpected drama, underscoring the vibrant and sometimes unpredictable nature of live music awards.
