Hilary Duff is set to embark on her first world tour in almost two decades, bringing her highly anticipated Lucky Me tour to Australian shores this October. The 38-year-old singer and actress, best known for her hit song Come Clean and starring role in Lizzie Maguire, last performed in Australia back in 2008 during her Dignity world tour.
Australian Tour Dates and Venues
The Australian leg of the Lucky Me tour will consist of four major concerts across the country. The tour kicks off at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on October 22, followed by performances at Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena on October 24 and Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena on October 26. The final Australian show will take place at the RAC Arena in Perth on October 29.
Fan Reactions and Adelaide Disappointment
Australian fans expressed overwhelming excitement on Live Nation Australia's Instagram announcement, with comments ranging from "Inner child screaming" to "This is what dreams are made of." However, the announcement also drew criticism from fans in Adelaide who were disappointed by the omission of their city from the tour schedule.
Several Adelaide fans voiced their frustration through clever references to Duff's song titles, with one writing "Missing Adelaide is So Yesterday" and another asking "Hey Now! What about Adelaide?" Some fans noted that while Adelaide was missing, Perth - often overlooked in international tours - had been included, suggesting it was a case of "win some, lose some."
Tour Announcement and Ticket Information
Duff announced the tour through an Instagram video showing her rummaging through a closet before selecting a cozy white faux-fur coat. She captioned the post: "The name says it all. I truly feel so lucky to be able to be onstage again in front of all of you beautiful people. I can't wait! See you on the Lucky Me tour."
Ticket sales will begin with Vodafone and Mastercard presales starting at 2pm on February 18. Live Nation and Westfield Reserve presales follow from 1pm on February 19, with general ticket sales commencing at 1pm on February 20.
Hilary Duff's Career Achievements
The Lucky Me tour will support Duff's upcoming album Luck...or Something, marking her return to major touring after focusing on other creative pursuits. Duff first rose to fame as a teen idol playing the titular role in the iconic Disney series Lizzie Maguire and its subsequent feature film.
She successfully transitioned from acting to music, selling 15 million albums worldwide. In March 2023, Billboard ranked Duff at number 73 on its Top 100 Women Artists of the 21st Century list. Beyond music and acting, Duff has also co-authored a trilogy of novels beginning with Elixir, which topped The New York Times Best Seller list, followed by sequels Devoted and True.
The upcoming Australian concerts represent a significant moment for both Duff and her Australian fanbase, who haven't seen her perform live in the country for 16 years. While Adelaide fans may be disappointed by the current schedule, the breaks between dates leave open the possibility of additional shows being added to the itinerary.
