Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) has confirmed the detention of a 57-year-old German woman who was allegedly found carrying a bomb in her rucksack. The incident, which occurred on Monday, has been described by Russian authorities as part of a false-flag operation orchestrated by Ukrainian intelligence.

According to the FSB, the woman was apprehended in the Stavropol region, where she was reportedly targeting a law enforcement facility. The bomb in her possession was said to contain the explosive equivalent of 1.5 kilograms of TNT. Unverified footage from the scene showed the woman lying on the tarmac in a car park, surrounded by armed men pointing weapons at her, with a rucksack visible nearby. Sappers were later shown detonating the rucksack in a controlled explosion.

The FSB asserted that the German woman's actions were coordinated by employees of the Ukrainian special services, who were allegedly posing as members of an international terrorist organisation banned in Russia. In addition to the woman, the FSB claimed to have detained a citizen from a Central Asian country who believed he was acting on behalf of this terrorist group and was due to detonate the bomb.
"The actions of the man were coordinated by employees of the Ukrainian special services under the guise of members of one of the international terrorist organisations banned in Russia," the FSB stated in its official release.
