Indian authorities have uncovered an elaborate scam involving a fake embassy operating in New Delhi, where fraudsters issued visas for the unrecognised "Kingdom of Westarctica". The operation, which ran for months, was finally dismantled by police after multiple complaints from victims.
The Bizarre Case of Westarctica
The so-called "embassy" claimed to represent Westarctica – a micronation with no international recognition, founded in 2001 on a territorial claim in Antarctica. The scammers set up shop in a residential area of Ghaziabad, complete with official-looking seals and documents.
How the Scam Worked
