Funk legend Chaka Khan has no intention of retiring as she marks 50 years in the music business with a concert at Blenheim Palace. The 10-time Grammy winner, who turned 70 in March, will perform on 13 June as part of the five-night Nocturne Live concert series.
Khan, whose real name is Yvette Marie Stevens, will appear on a triple bill alongside Sister Sledge and The Fatback Band. The concert series runs from 12 to 16 June at the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Oxfordshire.
Earlier this month, Khan was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame at a ceremony in Brooklyn, New York. Other acts confirmed for the series include Crowded House, Sheryl Crow, and Turin Brakes, who will perform on the closing night.
Tickets for the 10,000-capacity event go on general sale on Friday, with pre-sale available from Tuesday. Acts for the remaining dates are yet to be announced.
Previous performers at Blenheim Palace have included Lionel Richie, Elton John, Kylie Minogue, and Nile Rodgers, among others.
