Former Eurovision winners Bucks Fizz have thrown their support behind the UK's 2026 entry, Look Mum No Computer, describing the song as 'absolutely brilliant'. The group, now performing as The Fizz, believe Sam Battle – the man behind the act – has a strong chance of finishing in the top five at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna this May.
Battle's electro track 'Eins Zwei Drei' has divided opinion since its announcement, with some praising its originality while others have been less kind, labelling it 'a millennial cos-player with no talent' and 'another dud who'll end up Look Mum No Points'. However, Cheryl Baker, 72, who won Eurovision with Bucks Fizz in 1981 with 'Making Your Mind Up', told The Mirror: 'I think we have a really good chance this year.'
Bucks Fizz underwent changes over the decades; after a legal dispute in the 1990s, Bobby Gee now performs under the original name with three other singers. Original members Cheryl, Jay Aston and Mike Nolan continued as The Fizz until Mike left in 2024 following a miraculous recovery from a brain haemorrhage sustained in a 1984 tour bus crash. The two women then recruited Nikk Mager from boyband Phixx and Matthew Pateman from Bad Boys Inc and Let Loose.
To celebrate the 45th anniversary of their Eurovision triumph, The Fizz have been recording a new track with legendary pop hitmaker Mike Stock, formerly of the Stock, Aitken and Waterman production team. Stock said: 'The Fizz were back in the studio recording a new track for the Bucks Fizz 45th anniversary. This is the first time recording with the new guys and they are all sounding great.'
