The hit Netflix period drama Bridgerton has honoured two late members of its production team with a poignant dedication in the series four finale. The show, which is based on Julia Quinn's popular novels, released the final four episodes of its latest season on Thursday, 26 February 2026.
A Touching Tribute
After the concluding scene, which focuses on the romantic storyline between Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson, and household maid Sophie Baek, portrayed by Yerin Ha, a title card appeared before the credits. It read: "In loving memory of Nicholas Braimbridge, Tony Cooper." This heartfelt gesture acknowledges the contributions of both individuals to the beloved series.
Remembering Nicholas Braimbridge
Nicholas Braimbridge served as a scenic artist on Bridgerton and its spin-off, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. His colleague, art director Alison Gartshore, paid tribute to him last May, describing him as "hugely talented" and an expert in faux finishing techniques like marbling and wood grain.
Gartshore noted on a GoFundMe page for his two daughters that Braimbridge was a "delightful, charming, funny man - a true gent" who was integral to the art department team. She emphasised that everyone who met him loved him, and his passing has left the team deeply upset.
The Legacy of Tony Cooper
Tony Cooper worked as a driver for the cast on both Bridgerton and its spin-off. Throughout his career, he contributed to numerous blockbuster films and television shows, including serving as a unit driver for the final three Harry Potter films.
His impressive resume also includes roles as a cast driver for the 2015 adaptation of Cinderella, the Winston Churchill biopic Darkest Hour, Netflix's The Crown, and Marvel's Black Widow. Cooper's work behind the scenes helped facilitate the production of many acclaimed projects.
Bridgerton's Ongoing Success
Since its debut on Netflix in December 2020, Bridgerton has become a global phenomenon, launching stars like Phoebe Dynevor and Regé-Jean Page to fame. Produced by Shonda Rhimes' Shondaland, the series follows a different Bridgerton sibling each season.
Previous seasons have focused on Daphne Bridgerton in series one, Anthony Bridgerton in series two, and Colin and Francesca Bridgerton in series three. The current fourth series, split into two parts with the first four episodes arriving in January, centres on Benedict's romantic pursuit of Sophie.
This dedication serves as a reminder of the collaborative effort required to bring such a lavish production to life, honouring the memory of those who played a vital role in its creation.
