Jennifer Metcalfe, 42, Reveals Her Diet and Fitness Secrets for Sensational Figure
Jennifer Metcalfe's diet and fitness secrets revealed

Hollyoaks actress Jennifer Metcalfe turned heads this week, showcasing her toned physique in a stylish gym ensemble. The 42-year-old star was spotted on Tuesday, demonstrating the impressive results of her personal health and fitness philosophy.

The Gym Look That Turned Heads

Jennifer Metcalfe was seen arriving at the gym in a figure-hugging workout set that highlighted her enviable form. She wore a cropped black jumper paired with brown, high-waisted leggings that perfectly complemented her athletic build. Her outfit was completed with practical black trainers, and she styled her brunette hair in an effortlessly chic messy bun.

Later the same day, the soap star was photographed leaving The Therapy House Clinic in Lytham. For this outing, she wrapped up against the chill in a luxurious, brown oversized fur coat, blending comfort with glamour.

"The Fattier The Better": A Surprising Dietary Approach

In a candid discussion with the Daily Mail, Jennifer revealed the dietary principles behind her sensational figure. Contrary to many mainstream diets, she actively embraces foods with a high fat content. Jennifer explained that she believes high-fat foods are "really good for you" as you get older.

"I try to eat high-fat," she stated. "So if I get a steak, it’ll be ribeye steak. I love the fatty bit. Thighs and wings of chicken, high-fat as you get older, are really good for you."

She addressed potential health concerns head-on, noting, "My cholesterol is quite high and there are arguments that it is bad for you, but I quite like it… the fattier the better, it is all natural. I’d rather that than a fillet with loads of peppercorn."

When cravings strike, Jennifer adopts a simple philosophy: she doesn't deny herself. "For me, if I have a craving for something… say something spicy, I need to have it, nothing else will do," she said. "You’re not tricking me with spicy nuts. I’d rather have two spoonfuls instead of a tray of it. That has always been my thing."

Weight Training and the Quest for Yoga

Her fitness regimen is as straightforward as her diet. Jennifer Metcalfe currently focuses on weight training and is keen to reintroduce yoga into her routine. She reminisced about practising yoga regularly when she lived in Liverpool roughly five years ago and expressed a strong desire to return to it.

"I need to get back into my yoga," she admitted. "I used to go one or two nights a week, and it is something I have recently said I want to get back into. I do a bit of weight training and you get twinges, but yoga keeps it all… and the mind empty as well!"

Her background gives her a unique insight into physical wellness. Jennifer holds a degree in fitness, which she pursued immediately after her A-Levels. This education means she is, in her own words, "very aware of what works for me and what I need to do."

Preferring solitude during her workouts, she often exercises at home. "That is time for me when nobody is interrupting," she shared. "I have my Earpods in. People have gym buddies, I am like, 'sounds great, but I don’t want to talk to anyone,' my head is enough. I put music on in my ears and smash an hour out. I feel like that is therapy after I have finished it. It’s amazing for your head."

Jennifer Metcalfe's approach to health and fitness is a blend of indulgence in natural, high-fat foods, disciplined weight training, and a mindful appreciation for the mental benefits of exercise. Her methods prove that maintaining a sensational figure can be based on personal preference and listening to one's body, rather than following restrictive trends.
