Pregnant Nicola Roberts Cancels West End Shows for Surgery

Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts has cancelled her final week of performances in the West End musical 'Hadestown' after being advised to undergo a surgical procedure. The 40-year-old singer, who announced her pregnancy on Christmas Day, said she was 'heartbroken' to leave the show early but must follow her doctor's instructions.

Roberts, who plays Persephone in the production, shared the news on social media, writing: 'Today I have learnt that I have to undergo a small surgical procedure and have been informed by my doctor that as a result I will be unable to complete my final week of Hadestown shows. Everything is ok.' She apologised to fans who had booked tickets for her final performances.

The singer revealed on Christmas Day that she and her fiancé, footballer Mitch Hahn, are expecting their first child in spring 2026. She posted photos of herself cradling her baby bump beside a Christmas tree, captioning the post: 'Mitch and I have had the most magical Christmas Day sharing the most precious news with our families.'
