Michael Phillips, a 38-year-old man from North Carolina in the United States, has boldly claimed to possess the world's smallest penis and has issued a public challenge for anyone to prove him wrong. In a recent video interview, Phillips opened up about his personal life and the medical condition known as micropenis, which he says he was diagnosed with in 2025.
The Claim and Challenge
Phillips alleges that his penis measures a mere 0.97 centimetres, or 0.38 inches, when fully erect. To illustrate his point, he held up his fingernail during the interview, stating emphatically, "When it’s flaccid, it's smaller than that." He confidently told TMZ, "I welcome anybody to [go] out there and beat me," challenging others to disprove his claim of having the smallest penis globally.
Raising Awareness About Micropenis
Phillips explained that he has chosen to speak out about this deeply private topic to raise awareness around micropenis, a legitimate medical condition. He emphasised that it is "not just some slang term that people use on the internet." According to the Cleveland Clinic, micropenis is defined as a penis with a stretched length of less than 6.8 centimetres, or 2.67 inches, affecting approximately 0.6% of the global population.
Impact on Personal Life
The American man revealed the significant challenges he has faced due to his condition. He described "several occasions of being in a position where I could have sex and trying and not being successful," which led him to explore options for increasing his size. Phillips admitted, "I will never be able to like be able to have penetrative sex, but like other things like fooling around, oral and stuff like that, yeah."
Dating and relationships have also been profoundly affected. Phillips shared, "My dating life is probably challenging because I don't really go out and try to meet new people. I'm more introverted. I'm more to myself and I avoid relationships because of it." He even mentioned practical difficulties, such as going to the bathroom, where "it goes everywhere and stuff like that."
High School Experiences and Guinness Record
Reflecting on his past, Phillips recalled a moment in high school when he told a girl about his size, only for her to laugh and dismiss it with, "like that's it." This early experience highlighted his sense of being "different." Additionally, he has looked into making his claim official with the Guinness Book of World Records, though he expressed uncertainty, saying, "I think I looked into it and I'm not really sure if they give out records for that sort of thing, but I would."
Phillips attributed his bold claim to personal online research, underscoring his commitment to bringing attention to micropenis and its real-world implications. His story serves as a poignant reminder of the personal struggles faced by those with this condition, while his challenge aims to spark broader conversation and understanding.
