In a deeply personal and emotional revelation, former Love Island star Anna Vakili has disclosed that she recently experienced a devastating miscarriage, just days after learning she was expecting her first child. The 34-year-old TV personality and pharmacist, who rose to fame on the ITV2 dating show in 2019, shared that both she and her boyfriend, known as Cowslick, were left heartbroken by the sudden loss.
Heartbreaking Discovery During Romantic Getaway
Speaking candidly on the Sisters in the City podcast, which she hosts with her sister Mandi, Anna recounted the traumatic events that unfolded during a romantic trip to the Cotswolds. She described waking up in the early hours of the morning to discover she was bleeding, immediately sparking confusion and fear. "I was just like: 'What’s going on?' I don’t know anything about pregnancies and I was like: 'What does this mean?'" she explained.
After turning to the internet for answers, Anna learned that some blood loss can be normal during pregnancy, but her concern grew so intense that she felt compelled to wake her boyfriend. Hoping for the best, she eventually went back to sleep, only to wake later to find "so much" more blood. "That’s when I knew, from reading the symptoms and if it’s clotted, it’s most likely a miscarriage," she said, her voice heavy with emotion.
Double Shock and Emotional Turmoil
Anna reflected on the whirlwind of emotions, describing it as "two big shocks in the space of like a week." The first was the joy of discovering her pregnancy, followed swiftly by the crushing blow of the miscarriage. "And I didn’t know what to do, I was crying so much in the hotel in the Cotswolds, crying and screaming and really upset. And Cowslick was so upset, we were both really upset," she added, highlighting the shared grief they endured.
This poignant disclosure comes amid news that another Love Island: All Stars finalist, Yamen Sanders, is reportedly set to make a surprise appearance on Netflix's dating show Perfect Match. The third series of the spin-off recently concluded, with Samie Elishi and Ciaran Davies crowned winners, followed by Millie Court and Zac Woodworth in second place, and Leanne Amaning and Scott van-der-Sluis in third.
Although Yamen and his partner Whitney Adebayo placed fifth, they remain happily together in the UK. According to reports, Yamen filmed for the upcoming fourth series of Perfect Match in November, prior to his stint in the South African villa. The show, which debuted in 2023, features couples testing their compatibility in a strategic dating competition.
