Bec Judd Reveals 'Coachella Cough' After Festival

Coachella regular Bec Judd has openly discussed returning from the famous music event feeling distinctly unwell. The 43-year-old AFL WAG and her close friend Jess Roberts both confessed to experiencing the notorious 'Coachella cough' during the most recent instalment of their Vain-ish podcast.

The Unwanted Festival Souvenir

'Coachella cough incoming,' Jess announced at the start of the episode. 'I find it amusing that everyone's returning and immediately testing for COVID. The results are all negative – it's simply the Coachella cough.' Bec concurred, explaining that the festival environment is a perfect breeding ground for picking up such ailments.

'It's the dust at the polo club because Coachella is held at the Empire Polo Club – the ground is covered in grass and horse manure, and you inhale it all due to the strong winds. That's what gives you the Coachella cough,' she detailed.

Recounting the Symptoms

When Jess inquired about Bec's condition, Bec listed her symptoms, noting she had suffered a similar illness after last year's festival. 'I feel absolutely terrible. I'm still experiencing some dizziness and a general fuzziness in my head,' Bec admitted.

'I recalled last year when I attended, we returned and went directly to our country property for Easter. It genuinely took a full week before I felt free from jet lag, properly rehydrated, and could think clearly again. It was essentially a seven-day recovery period,' she added.

Bec mentioned that upon seeing Jess, who had only arrived back from Los Angeles the day before recording, she immediately recognised her co-host was in a comparable state. 'I returned two days ago, and you only got back 24 hours ago. When you collected me for work today, I thought: "She isn't well. This woman is really struggling."'

Festival Preparations and Aftermath

Bec and Jess travelled to the festival together, staying in two separate locations in the nearby towns of Palm Springs and La Quinta. Bec shared a glimpse of their 'messy' hotel room on Instagram, posting a photo where she smiled beside a heap of suitcases with belongings scattered across the floor.

'Neat freaks at home, but messy when travelling,' Jess captioned the image, which was uploaded to her account and reposted by Bec. The duo also filmed a promotional video for Melbourne Airport as part of their journey, enjoying a duty-free shopping spree on the online Laneway store.

Before departing, Bec showcased nearly $500 worth of skincare products she packed for her annual Coachella trip. Her essentials included several items from The Skincare Company, such as the $145 Multi-Action Peptide Serum and the $145 Essential Starter Pack. She also packed two types of sunscreen – the Dry Touch version and the Daily Defence, each priced at $45 – along with the $90 Body Lustre cream.

'Packing for Coachella, but my skin remains the priority,' Bec wrote in her caption, describing these as 'essentials I cannot travel without.' Prior to flying out, Bec expressed excitement about attending the outdoor festival, particularly to see music icon Justin Bieber perform. A frequent Coachella attendee, Bec often impresses fans with her stylish festival appearances.
