Peter Andre's 'Scary' Parenting Milestone as Daughter Amelia, 11, Takes on Pilgrimage
Peter Andre's 'Scary' Parenting Milestone with Daughter

Showbiz personality Peter Andre has candidly shared his 'scary' mixed emotions after reaching a significant parenting first with his wife, Emily Andre.

A Notable Absence and a Brave Adventure

The singer, 52, recently jetted off to Cyprus for a family holiday with his wife Emily, 36, and their children Theo, eight, and Arabella, one. However, fans quickly noticed that their daughter Amelia, 11, was missing from the holiday photos.

In his exclusive column with new! magazine, Andre revealed the reason for her absence. Amelia was undertaking an incredible 80-kilometre pilgrimage through the Pyrenees mountains with her grandmother, Emily's mother. The trek was completed over four days, an experience Andre described as 'absolutely amazing' for his daughter.

"She walked about 80 km in four days, she said it was the most incredible experience," the proud father shared. "So it's the first time she hasn't come away with us but she was with her grandma doing a pilgrimage which I thought was wonderful."

Pride Tempered with Parental Anxiety

Despite his pride, Andre did not hide his apprehension. He admitted that letting his daughter go was a daunting experience, marking a new chapter in his parenting journey.

"It was very scary for us, you know, it's very scary as a parent," he confessed. While he acknowledged the reassurance of having a paediatrician grandmother on hand, the emotion was still raw. "It was just really, really, really, scary, but it was wonderful to know that she was achieving so much, we're very proud," Andre stated, summing up his conflicted feelings.

New Family Rules for the Younger Children

This milestone comes as Peter and Emily implement different rules for their younger children compared to his older ones. Andre is also a father to Junior, 20, and Princess, 18, from his previous marriage to Katie Price, who have been in the public eye from a young age, attending red carpet events and appearing on television.

However, the approach for Amelia, Theo, and Arabella will be different. When Amelia asked if she could attend events like the Pride of Britain awards, Peter and Emily agreed on a new guideline. "I said, maybe when you are 16," Peter revealed, a decision which Emily supported, noting that Amelia is now in secondary school.

Despite these new boundaries, the couple remain immensely proud of the successes achieved by Princess and Junior in their respective careers in reality TV, makeup, and music.
