Find All 10 Working Animals in This Brainteaser Puzzle

A new brainteaser celebrating International Working Animal Day hides 10 working animals in a scene, from oxen ploughing fields to horses taking children to school. Can you spot them all?

Working Animals Often Overlooked

Working Animals International is marking the tenth anniversary of its International Working Animal Day on June 15th. This yearly event is designed to spotlight the crucial role played by working animals such as donkeys, horses, mules, camels, oxen, and others worldwide.

A study of 2,000 adults, commissioned by the charity in honour of the occasion, revealed that bees, donkeys, and mules are among the most undervalued animals. Frogs, foxes, and rats also featured in the list of underappreciated creatures.

Over half (54%) of respondents believe the contribution of working animals is frequently overlooked, with many suggesting these animals are often undervalued because they aren't seen as 'cute'.

For 42%, the belief is that certain animals are often ignored because people don't understand their importance to the planet and humanity. However, 51% think this wouldn't be the case if society was more aware of the work they perform.

Even some seemingly popular farm animals are thought to be neglected, including pigs, chickens, and goats, which all made it into the top 12.

The Puzzle Scene

The scene hides 10 working animals, each representing roles they still fulfil today. Can you spot them?

Linda Edwards, chief executive from the charity, said: "We wanted to bring to life just how much work working animals do, and how often that contribution and their welfare is overlooked. The puzzle shows the breadth of their roles from oxen ploughing fields to horses taking children to school."

"These animals perform essential jobs that are part of everyday life in many communities around the world. We hope that by encouraging people to look for working animals in the puzzle, that they, and their welfare, become more visible."

Public Awareness and Education

Over half (56%) of those surveyed, via OnePoll, reckon that education in schools would enhance the public's general understanding of working animals. However, many believe that references in pop culture could also be beneficial, including in TV shows (36%), books (34%), and films (29%).

A third also suggested that national awareness days would boost societal knowledge, while 43% feel more informed and aware of working animals today than they were a decade ago.

Linda Edwards, from Working Animals International, commented: "Millions of working animals help people earn a living, access essential services and support their families, yet their contribution is too often overlooked. On International Working Animal Day, we are celebrating these remarkable animals and calling for greater recognition of their welfare needs."
