The Brick Explorers trail, featuring giant Lego sculptures, will run at RHS Garden Bridgewater from July 18 to August 31, 2026, during school holidays. The wildlife-inspired brick creations, each individually designed and handcrafted by Iconic Bricks, will be woven throughout the gardens.
Trail Details Across Five RHS Gardens
Brick Explorers trails are taking place at all five RHS Gardens: Wisley (Surrey), Harlow Carr (North Yorkshire), Hyde Hall (Essex), Rosemoor (Devon), and Bridgewater. The trails feature more than 60 wildlife-inspired brick creations, some reaching up to 1.8 metres tall, created from over 433,000 bricks and weighing more than 1,700 kg in total.
Each RHS Garden will feature its own collection of unique, larger-than-life models alongside visual and audio elements, from light-up Mycena mushrooms and a hooting tawny owl to a long-tailed tit perched in a natural-material nest and a 1.8-metre ladybird.
Interactive Experience for Visitors
Guests are encouraged to take close note of their surroundings as the displays appear in varied forms and at different levels, from towering within tree canopies to nestled among flower beds and positioned within naturalistic settings. Visitors can follow a family trail to uncover 10 ‘wildlife superheroes’, learning about the unique abilities and behaviours that help different species survive and thrive. Using an accompanying activity booklet, there is the chance to collect superhero ‘superpowers’ while exploring the gardens, discovering how plants, fungi, and animals are connected within natural ecosystems.
Alongside the trail, each RHS Garden will host brick building activities throughout the summer, giving visitors the chance to create their own nature-inspired builds and imaginative green spaces.
Quotes and Additional Activities
Elin Simonsson, head of public engagement at the RHS, said: “Following the positive response from visitors to the Great Brick Safari we previously hosted in the Glasshouse at RHS Wisley, we’re delighted to be bringing a new Brick Sculpture trail to all five RHS Gardens this summer on a bigger and better scale offering an experience that is both engaging and educational. The brick sculptures act as building blocks for discovery, encouraging children to explore, notice the hidden connections in nature, and have fun while learning about the wildlife that shares our gardens.”
The trail will run at Salford's RHS Bridgewater from July 18 to August 31, 10am to 6pm. The Brick Explorers build station opens daily from July 18 to 24 in the marquee and then every Tuesday and Friday between July 28 and August 28 inside the Learning Studios.
