The AA has named Llanerchindda Farm in Llandovery, Carmarthenshire, as the Bed & Breakfast of the Year Wales for 2026. The family-run establishment was recognised for its individuality, high housekeeping standards, and memorable breakfasts, according to the AA's B&B Awards announced on July 7.
Set within 50 acres of Welsh countryside, the nine-room guesthouse offers views across Bannau Brycheiniog and the Black Mountains. AA Inspectors described it as providing “the perfect base for walkers, anglers and nature lovers who want to explore the great outdoors.” They also praised the “friendly welcome, good food and wonderful countryside.”
Family-Run Hospitality
Owned by Lynn and Martin, alongside their twin sons Andrew and Mark, Llanerchindda Farm Guest House has become a popular destination for a countryside escape. The team posted about the win on their website, saying, “This incredible award is a huge honour for our family and recognises the hard work and passion and hospitality that goes into welcoming every guest who stays with us here.”
Owner Martin added, “Receiving the AA Bed & Breakfast of the Year Wales award is something we appreciate very much. We're incredibly proud of what we've built together as a family, but this award is just as much for our wonderful staff, whose dedication shines through every single day.”
Lynn commented, “Our aim has always been simple – to make everyone feel at home from the moment they arrive. Seeing guests leave relaxed, refreshed, and already planning their next visit is the greatest reward. To receive this recognition from the AA is truly overwhelming.”
Amenities and Dining
The property features a mix of guesthouse rooms and self-catering cottages, with outdoor terraces, private gardens, and access to nature trails, streams, and a small lake. En-suite rooms include televisions, tea and coffee-making facilities, and hairdryers. A farmhouse-style breakfast is served between 8:00 and 9:00 am using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, and a three-course set menu is available in the evening.
AA Inspectors also praised the large lounge, patio, comfortable and homely bedrooms, and the “unique and stunning location among the hills and farmland of Carmarthenshire.” Activities nearby include walking, fishing, quad-bike riding, and birdwatching.
