Channel 4's The Light in the Hall has made its long-awaited return to screens, though viewers will already face a brief wait between episodes. The Welsh thriller stages a comeback after a four-year absence with its second series, subtitled Still Waters, once again unfolding in the fictional town of Llanemlyn.
Plot and Cast
In this latest instalment, the drama follows Caryl (Sian Reese-Williams) as she investigates the case of Rhys Owen (Mark Lewis Jones), who has recently returned to his hometown. Having spent 20 years behind bars for the murder of his cousin, Rhys maintains his innocence and is determined to clear his name.

Cast and Background

The debut series centred on bereaved mother Sharon Roberts (Joanna Scanlan), whose life unravelled after her daughter's murder. Mark Lewis Jones revealed that his personal connection with Scanlan persuaded him to join the new series. He said, "Joanna Scanlan is a friend... I thought it was great. It was absolutely wonderful."
The Light in the Hall is available to watch on Channel 4.
