Jennifer Garner's Candid Confessions on Cosmetic Tweaks and Family Opinions
Jennifer Garner has offered refreshingly honest insights into her experiences with cosmetic procedures, revealing that her three children hold strong opinions about her appearance. The 53-year-old actress, known for her role in Alias, discussed everything from Botox to the possibility of a future facelift during a frank appearance on Kylie Kelce's Not Gonna Lie podcast this Thursday.
Botox Experiments and Forehead Freezing
Garner, who shares children Violet, 20, Seraphina, 17, and Samuel, 14, with ex-husband Ben Affleck, admitted to experimenting with injectables in the past. However, she explained that the results were not suitable for her personal preferences. "Of course, I've tried Botox and all that, but it takes very little to completely freeze my forehead," she stated. "And then I just feel so conspicuous, like I've got a walking billboard. I might as well get a tattoo of something, you know, across it. It's horrible. So, no, the Botox in the forehead, unfortunately, is not for me."
Children's Pleas Against Facelift Surgery
More notably, Garner confessed that her children have actively begged her to avoid undergoing facelift surgery. "My kids are like, 'Mom, promise us you'll never get a facelift.' And I say, 'I am unlikely to rush toward a facelift,'" she revealed. "And yet I refuse to make that promise because I am me today, and I don't know how I'm gonna feel." This highlights the complex interplay between personal aging concerns and familial influence in decision-making about cosmetic enhancements.
Aging, Wrinkles, and Low-Tech Solutions
The actress acknowledged that she is not entirely immune to insecurities about aging, even though she has largely made peace with the natural process. "I do, I have creasy wrinkles, and I'm just they're gonna have to just be there," she said frankly. Her simple, low-tech fix for this involves a stylistic choice: "So sometimes I get bangs." This approach underscores a preference for non-invasive methods over surgical interventions.
Regular Dermatologist Visits and Subtle Treatments
Garner clarified that while she has avoided surgical procedures, she does not steer clear of dermatological treatments altogether. "So don't think that I don't have something in there because I haven't done surgery," she shared. "I haven't, I would tell you if I had. I haven't done any of that stuff. But once a year, I go see someone, and I'm like, I'm a pin cushion. I can't really tell the difference after because that's what I've noticed: The more you spend on a dermatologist doing a bunch of things to your face, the less you can tell that they've done it. And somehow, that's a good thing. I don't know why. But I will go pay them so much money to say, 'I don't want to see it.'"
Non-Judgmental Stance on Others' Choices
Despite her personal hesitations, Garner emphasized that she does not judge others who opt for different cosmetic routes. "I also think that anyone who wants to do whatever they wanna do, they look beautiful. They look beautiful," she stated, promoting a message of acceptance and individual choice in beauty standards.
Family Dynamics and Co-Parenting Insights
Garner's candid reflections coincide with recent comments from her ex-husband, Ben Affleck, about their co-parenting approach. Affleck, 53, described the challenges of raising children in the public eye as "complicated" and revealed that they are careful not to push their children toward Hollywood careers. "You put something on your children when you have a public life and that's complicated," he told E! News. "We really want to give them room to figure out what they want to do. I wouldn't push them into that. They're brilliant and lovely and wonderful and we love them and we're proud of them. And hope that they don't waste their life acting."
Affleck and Garner were married from 2005 until their split in 2015, finalizing their divorce three years later. Despite their high-profile breakup, they have maintained an amicable co-parenting relationship, focusing on their children's well-being.
Children's Individual Paths and Blended Family Harmony
While Samuel and Seraphina are focused on their education, eldest daughter Violet has pursued activism, recently delivering a speech at the United Nations advocating for mask mandates and clean air initiatives post-pandemic. Affleck's remarks also come amid public curiosity about the blended family dynamic involving Garner and Jennifer Lopez, who divorced Affleck in 2025. Although they were not pictured together at the Golden Globes, sources indicate "no drama" between Lopez and Garner, with both committed to maintaining a harmonious environment for the children. Violet has even formed a close bond with Lopez, holidaying with her in the Hamptons, showcasing the family's efforts to foster positive relationships.
