The third season of Paramount+ thriller Yellowjackets has returned, reigniting fan curiosity about the timeline of the survivors' ordeal in the Canadian wilderness. The series, which alternates between 1996 and the present day, reveals that the high school girls' soccer team was stranded for 19 months after their plane crashed en route to the Nationals.
Clues throughout the series hint at the duration. The first season covers roughly five to six months, starting with the crash in May (when the girls missed prom for Nationals) and progressing to a grim 'doomcoming' bash in October. Shauna's pregnancy, conceived just before the crash, is evident by the season finale when she struggles to fit into her doomcoming outfit.
The second season spans four to five months, including a two-month leap from the first season's conclusion. Taissa mentions Shauna has been talking to Jackie's remains for a few months, and by the time Shauna faces labour pains and the group practices morning meditation, it has been about nine months post-crash.
A further time jump occurs between seasons two and three, shifting from winter to summer, indicating several more months have passed. The timeline for season three episodes remains unknown, as does the potential for a fourth series. Yellowjackets season three continues every Friday on Paramount+.
