In a startling departure from her regal Game of Thrones persona, Sophie Turner has been unveiled in a series of gritty and visceral first-look photographs from her forthcoming HBO film, Trust.
The images, released exclusively, depict the British actress in a state of extreme physical distress, a far cry from her role as Sansa Stark. Turner is seen with a severely bloodied face and a noticeably sculpted, muscular physique, hinting at the intense and dark narrative of the new project.
A Stark Physical Transformation
Turner's commitment to the role is immediately evident. The photographs showcase her with defined abdominal muscles and a powerful build, suggesting a significant training regimen was undertaken to prepare for the part. The graphic nature of the shots, featuring heavy makeup simulating blood and bruising, points to a raw and violent storyline.
She stars alongside Alexander Skarsgård, who also appears in the images looking equally worse for wear, with a bruised eye and a weary expression, indicating their characters share a tumultuous journey.
Behind The Scenes of 'Trust'
Trust is based on the novel The Dark Side of the Sun by IPAF-winning author Shahad Al Rawi. The film is directed by acclaimed Brazilian filmmaker Iuli Gerbase.
The plot is shrouded in secrecy but is described as a sci-fi drama set within a repressive society. Turner and Skarsgård play a couple who find their lives upended when they are prohibited from leaving their cramped apartment due to a mysterious new disease known as 'The Silence'.
The project marks a significant and bold career move for Turner, firmly establishing her range beyond the world of Westeros and big-budget franchises like X-Men.
