The magic is officially back! Disney+ has unleashed the first full-length trailer for the hotly anticipated 'Wizards of Waverly Place' sequel, and it's a nostalgic wave of spellbinding fun.
Reprising her iconic role, global superstar Selena Gomez returns as the witty and powerful witch Alex Russo. The trailer opens with a grown-up Alex living a surprisingly mundane life, far from the magical antics of her youth. Her brother Justin, played by David Henrie who also serves as an executive producer, is now a powerful wizard working for the magical oversight body, the Wizard Council.
The mystical plot kicks into gear when a powerful and enigmatic young wizard named Billie (played by Janice LeAnn Brown) arrives at the Russo family's doorstep, seeking help. This forces the estranged siblings to reunite and step back into the world they left behind.
The teaser is packed with the show's signature humour, dazzling visual effects, and several heartwarming cameos from the original cast, including Maria Canals-Barrera and David DeLuise as the beloved parents, Theresa and Jerry Russo.
Fans will be delighted to see the familiar setting of the Russo family's subway station lair and the iconic WizTech academy, promising a perfect blend of old charm and new adventures.
The new series is set to premiere with two special episodes on Disney+ in late 2024, marking a triumphant return to one of Disney Channel's most beloved universes.
