Harry Redknapp's Loving Birthday Tribute to Wife Sandra Amid I'm A Celebrity Row
Harry Redknapp's Birthday Tribute to Wife Sandra

Harry Redknapp has penned a loving message to his wife Sandra as they celebrated her 79th birthday, following his comments on the I'm A Celebrity controversy. The former football manager, also 79, took to social media to share a new photograph of the couple to mark the occasion.

Alongside the picture, Harry simply wrote: 'To my wife Sandra, happy birthday. You are my life.' Fans, captivated by the couple's enduring love, responded with birthday wishes for Sandra. One commented: 'Love this, such an amazing couple that teaches us so much about love, family and compassion. Happy birthday Sandra.' Another said: 'Awww Beautiful, Gorgeous couple Happy Birthday to Sandra Enjoy your Awesome Day.'

The couple's son, footballer Jamie Redknapp, 52, also paid tribute to his mother, writing: 'Happy birthday to my amazing mum. I love you so much, you’ve always been the best role model I could ask for. I hope you have the most wonderful day.' Harry and Sandra, childhood sweethearts, married on 30 June 1968 after meeting at their local pub aged 17.

Last week, Harry waded into the controversy surrounding this year's I'm A Celebrity All Stars series in South Africa. During the chaotic finale, Jimmy Bullard accused Adam of being 'abusive, aggressive and intimidating' after an alleged incident involving the 'C-word'. In an interview with the Daily Mail, Harry shared his thoughts: 'That was a big and quite a bad argument. Adam really sort of lost his head with Jimmy, which was a shame because they'd got on very well.'

Harry also commented on the feud between Adam and David Haye, who has been accused of being a 'bully'. He said: 'David seemed to be giving Adam lots of stick, for whatever reason, and Adam seemed to spend an awful lot of time getting very upset about everything.' Harry admitted he was unaware of most arguments in camp because he didn't wear his hearing aids. 'I really didn't even hear what was going on because I do have hearing aids. I couldn't take them into the camp because there's nowhere to charge them up and they'd only last 48 hours maximum.'

Harry also touched on how hunger contributed to arguments. 'We had one or two arguments, I suppose. You'll always get that when you get people living together and getting a bit hungry and not getting food.' During the live finale, hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly struggled to control the situation as Gemma Collins and Sinitta stormed off stage. Jimmy Bullard explained he had to leave for personal reasons and that if he hadn't said 'I'm A Celebrity' in a challenge, he would not have received his full pay.
