Scrubs Revival First Look Sends Fans Wild for 2026 Return
Scrubs First Look Unveiled for 2026 Revival

Devotees of the cult medical sitcom Scrubs have been sent into a frenzy following the release of the first official look at the show's highly anticipated revival.

A Triumphant Return to Sacred Heart

The beloved series, which originally concluded in March 2010, is officially scheduled for a comeback with its tenth season premiering on 25th February 2026 on ABC. This marks a return to screens nearly 16 years after the original run ended.

Created by Bill Lawrence, the show originally starred Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke, and Donald Faison as a group of medical residents navigating the pressures of their careers and personal lives at the fictional Sacred Heart Hospital. It became a fan favourite for its unique blend of quirky humour and poignant, emotional storylines.

First Glimpse Reveals Familiar Faces

A short teaser trailer has now been unveiled, giving audiences their first proper look at the returning principal cast. The clip features Braff's John 'JD' Dorian confidently announcing "I'm back!" alongside Elliot Reid (Chalke) and Christopher Turk (Faison), much to the confusion of a new cohort of interns.

The new interns, played by Ava Bunn, Jacob Dudman, David Gridley, Layla Mohammadi, and Amanda Morrow, appear unimpressed by JD's declaration. The teaser also treats viewers to the return of the iconic dynamic between JD and his antagonistic mentor, Dr. Perry Cox, played by John C. McGinley, who emerges to mock JD's attempt at an impression of him. The scene is rounded off by the appearance of the beloved nurse Carla Espinosa, portrayed by Judy Reyes, who steps in to defend JD.

Fan Reaction: A Mix of Elation and Trepidation

The reaction from the show's dedicated fanbase has been overwhelmingly passionate, though opinions are divided. On social media platform X, one ecstatic user shared, "I LOVED this show first time around! Fingers crossed it is good again." Another exclaimed, "I'm actually so excited for this, my first favorite show ever is coming back!!"

The excitement spilled over onto Reddit, where one commenter expressed cautious optimism, stating, "I worry about this being good, but Bill Lawrence has been killing everything he works on lately. Ted Lasso and Shrinking are probably two of the best comedies on TV in a long time. I have confidence this will be pretty good." Another fan noted, "I'm so excited for this. Just looking at these screencaps, you can see that it's got the right energy."

However, not all responses were positive. Some fans voiced concerns about reviving a classic, with one X user pleading, "Noooo...Noooooo.NOOOOOOOOO. We need to let good things rest .... This is too much now."

All nine episodes of the new season will be available for streaming on Hulu upon release. For viewers in the UK, there is strong speculation that the series will be made available to watch on Disney+.
