Stranger Things' Sadie Sink Calls Filming Final Season 'Horrible'
Sadie Sink: Stranger Things Finale Was 'Horrible'

Stranger Things actress Sadie Sink has opened up about the profoundly difficult experience of filming the hit Netflix show's concluding season, describing the process as 'horrible' and 'awful'.

An Emotional Farewell to a Decade-Long Chapter

In a candid conversation with Glamour magazine, the 23-year-old star, who has played Max Mayfield since the show's second season, reflected on the deep sense of loss she and her co-stars felt as production wrapped. 'It was awful, just so emotional,' Sink shared. 'It felt like we were genuinely grieving something, which we were because it’s a huge chapter of our lives.'

Sink, who joined the cast in 2017 at the age of 14, emphasised the unique nature of the bond formed on set. She stated that the connection with her colleagues surpassed even the intensity of friendships made during high school or university. 'It’s bigger than that because nothing else is like this,' she explained.

Growing Up in the Spotlight

The actress, who appears on the December cover of Glamour'hard in all the ways you would expect it to be hard', she revealed she often felt unable to voice her struggles.

'Looking back on my teenage years, growing up on the show, I was really protected by the people around me,' Sink noted. However, she confessed that during moments of pressure or feeling overwhelmed, she feared sounding ungrateful. 'I felt like I couldn’t talk about it because it was such an amazing thing that was happening.'

Looking to the Future: A New Role as Producer

Beyond her acting work, Sink is now stepping into the world of producing for the first time with the film adaptation of the play 'John Proctor Is The Villain'. She told the magazine that this new venture felt 'like the right fit'.

'I’ve always been curious about producing, but it was only something I wanted to do if I felt like I could take it on,' Sink explained. 'I don’t want to just slap my name on something as a producer just because I can. I actually want to learn how to do it and do it right and work with people who are willing to educate me on it.'

Despite the emotional challenge of closing the Stranger Things chapter, Sink's career continues to evolve, marking a new beginning even as one era ends.
