Pointless Winner Reveals Rare Keepsake More Unique Than Trophy
Pointless Winner's Rare Keepsake More Unique Than Trophy

A former contestant on the popular BBC One quiz show Pointless has shared a fascinating behind-the-scenes detail about her experience, revealing that she left the studio with a memento even more unique than the coveted trophy itself. Rackie, who appeared on the programme with her sister Emma back in 2012, recently took to social media to explain this unusual keepsake.

The Pointless Victory and Coveted Trophy

Rackie and her sister Emma managed an impressive feat during their appearance on Pointless, reaching the final round in their very first episode. The duo successfully won the show's famous trophy, a small rectangular glass block engraved with the programme's distinctive scoring meter. This trophy is considered a rare prize, awarded only to winners of the challenging final round, though they did not secure the cash jackpot as they failed to provide a pointless answer in that ultimate question.

Something Even Rarer Than the Trophy

Despite possessing this unusual trophy, Rackie explained in a TikTok video posted twelve years after her appearance that she actually came away with something even more exceptional. "As well as having the trophy, I actually have something which I think is even rarer, which is my name badge," she revealed during her social media recollection.

The show typically reuses name badges for contestants with common names, such as her sister Emma. However, when Rackie inquired whether the production team would likely have another contestant named Rackie in the future, they acknowledged this was improbable and permitted her to keep the personalised badge. "They're just sort of made of paper card, and I said, 'are you really going to have another person called Rackie on Pointless?' And they were like, no, probably not, you can take it," she recounted.

The Final Question and Lasting Memories

Rackie also addressed questions from followers about their final round challenge. The category focused on films starring actress Charlize Theron, one of Rackie's personal favourites, though she noted the pointless answers were particularly obscure. Despite not winning the monetary prize, she reflected positively on the experience, stating, "But yeah, we had a great time, it was really good fun."

This revelation highlights an intriguing aspect of game show memorabilia, where sometimes the most personal items—like a simple name badge—can hold greater rarity and sentimental value than formal prizes. Rackie's story offers a unique glimpse into the behind-the-scenes workings of a beloved television programme and the unexpected souvenirs contestants might treasure for years afterward.
