Hollywood star Patricia Arquette has been spotted looking completely transformed while filming a new movie in New Jersey this week. The Oscar-winning actress appeared with long wavy dark hair, minimal makeup and strikingly thin eyebrows - a stark contrast to her usual red carpet glamour.
Family Reunion On Set
The 57-year-old actress is working alongside her former sister-in-law Courteney Cox on the true crime thriller Evil Genius. The Friends alum, who is 61, is directing and producing the project, having personally cast Arquette in the film.
The connection between the two stars runs deeper than professional collaboration. Courteney was previously married to Patricia's younger brother David Arquette from 1999 until their divorce was finalised in 2013. The former couple share a 21-year-old daughter named Coco.
Inspired By Notorious True Crime
The independent film draws inspiration from the 2018 Netflix docuseries Evil Genius: The True Story Of America's Most Diabolical Bank Heist. The story centres on the bizarre case of pizza delivery man Brian Wells, who walked into a Pennsylvania bank in 2003 with an explosive collar locked around his neck that later detonated, killing him instantly.
Courteney expressed her fascination with the project, stating: "I've been fascinated by Evil Genius since I first saw the documentary. It's stranger than fiction." She described the story as "at moments darkly funny and yet deeply emotional" and "a story about love, loneliness, manipulation, and the people on the fringes who get pulled into something much bigger than themselves."
Star-Studded Production
The New Jersey set in Little Falls also featured 50-year-old actor David Harbour, known for his role in Stranger Things. The ensemble cast includes several other notable performers:
- Michael Chernus
- Garrett Dillahunt
- Danielle Macdonald
- Tom McCarthy
- Harlow Jane
Production is now in full swing following the cast announcement earlier this month, though a release date for Evil Genius has not yet been confirmed.
Patricia Arquette's career has spanned decades since she rose to fame in her teens, following in her older sister's footsteps. She gained recognition for her work with Christian Slater in edgy films and appearances in thrillers like Stigmata. More recently, she won an Academy Award for her performance in a dramatic film and continues to earn critical acclaim for her work. The actress was previously married to Nicolas Cage from 1995 to 2001.
The original 2018 Netflix docuseries that inspired the film was well-received by critics, earning an impressive 80% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
