Derry Girls Icon Louisa Harland Joins Minnie Driver in Paramount+ Crime Drama

Derry Girls actress Louisa Harland has been cast alongside Minnie Driver and Rivals star Luca Pasqualino in Paramount+'s new eight-part heist thriller, The Day. The series, adapted from the Belgian show De Dag, promises a gripping narrative that unfolds over a tense 24-hour period.

A High-Stakes Standoff Unfolds

The Day begins when police discover a bank robbery in progress, leading to a dramatic standoff as the criminals lock themselves inside with hostages. The opening episode will be told from the police's perspective, led by hostage negotiator Sylvia 'Vox' Voxley, portrayed by Minnie Driver, known for her role in Emily in Paris.

However, the story then rewinds to allow audiences to experience the same events from inside the bank, through the eyes of the robbers and their captives. Each instalment switches viewpoints between the police operation and the criminals trapped inside, building towards a finale where the complete picture becomes clear.
