Kate Hudson's Paris Premiere Prep Revealed

Hollywood star Kate Hudson offered her Instagram followers an exclusive glimpse into her Parisian hotel preparations ahead of her latest film premiere this week.

Behind the Scenes in Paris

The 46-year-old actress shared intimate moments from her hotel bathroom on Monday, posing in black stockings, nude underwear and a black bra while her beige satin gown hung ready behind her. With her hair still pinned back and makeup perfectly applied featuring dramatic black eyeliner and red lipstick, the actress captured her pre-premiere ritual, complete with an espresso martini within reach.

Hudson was preparing for the European premiere of her new film Song Sung Blue, known in French as Sur un Air de Blues, which took place at the legendary Le Grand Rex cinema in Paris.

Song Sung Blue: The True Story Behind the Film

The biographical musical drama tells the remarkable true story of Milwaukee musicians Mike Sardina and Claire, portrayed by Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson respectively. The film follows the couple's journey as they form a Neil Diamond tribute act called Lightning & Thunder, navigating personal challenges while performing the superstar's classic hits.

Based on Greg Koh's 2008 documentary of the same name, the story follows the duo from struggling performers to finding both love and moderate success, though they never achieved fame beyond their hometown. The real-life couple once secured the extraordinary opportunity to open for rock legends Pearl Jam during their career.

The film features supporting performances from Michael Imperioli of The Sopranos fame, Jim Belushi and Fisher Stevens from Succession.

Emotional Reactions and Neil Diamond's Response

Both Hudson and Jackman revealed during their recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show that the film has provoked powerful emotional responses from viewers, including the legendary Neil Diamond himself.

Hugh Jackman shared the moving revelation that Neil Diamond called him in tears after watching the film, saying: 'Neil rang me crying because he was so moved by the movie. I went to meet him and actually stayed the night.'

Jackman described an unforgettable evening that included karaoke sessions where they performed everything from 'I Dreamed A Dream' from Les Misérables to Diamond's own 'Sweet Caroline'.

Kate Hudson added that her famous parents, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, were similarly emotional after viewing the film, describing them as 'a mess' and noting that she and Jackman had similar reactions during their first screening.

The actress also visited Diamond at his home, explaining: 'It was such a lovely emotional meeting. He loves Mike and Claire and he loves the movie. He was so grateful for it which I was not expecting.'

The film takes its title from Neil Diamond's 1972 chart-topping single 'Song Sung Blue'.
