Fans of Kaley Cuoco in the UK finally have a date for her latest project, but they will need to exercise a little patience. The former Big Bang Theory star's new mystery thriller, Vanished, is set to premiere on Prime Video in the United Kingdom on Friday, 27th February.
What is Vanished About?
The four-part series sees Cuoco team up with Sam Claflin (The Hunger Games) for a tense story of romance and danger. The official plot follows a couple, Alice (Cuoco) and Tom (Claflin), whose romantic trip to Paris takes a horrifying turn. Tom disappears suddenly aboard a train to the south of France, plunging Alice into a perilous investigation that uncovers shocking secrets about the man she thought she knew.
This marks a dark and dramatic turn for Cuoco, following her post-Big Bang Theory roles in The Flight Attendant and Role Play. The supporting cast features an impressive international line-up including Karin Viard, Matthias Schweighöfer, Simon Abkarian, and Dar Zuzovsky.
Bad News for UK Streaming Fans
While the UK release date is confirmed for 27th February, there is a catch for British subscribers. Viewers in several other regions will get to see the series almost a full month earlier. Audiences in the United States, Spain, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Latin America will see Vanished debut on Sunday, 1st February on the MGM+ platform.
There is a silver lining for UK-based binge-watchers, however. While the early February release on MGM+ will be a weekly episode rollout, Prime Video in the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand will release all four episodes at once on the 27th, allowing subscribers to devour the entire mystery in one sitting.
A Production Steeped in Intrigue
Shot on location in Marseille and Paris, the series promises a visually striking backdrop to the unfolding drama. Preview images released this week hint at the couple's initial romance and the subsequent chaos, showing Cuoco's character looking distressed and 'roughed up' in various settings, from Parisian streets to what appears to be a construction site.
The series was created by David Hilton and Preston Thompson and directed by Barnaby Thompson, known for films like St. Trinian's. With its blend of European locales, a star-studded cast, and a plot full of secrets and danger, Vanished is poised to be a major streaming event, even if UK fans have to wait a few extra weeks to hit play.
