Jeff Goldblum's Uncanny Waxwork Stuns Fans in Orlando Reveal
Jeff Goldblum's Uncanny Waxwork Stuns Fans

The legendary actor Jeff Goldblum has been immortalised in wax at Madame Tussauds Orlando, and the result is so startlingly accurate that it has left social media users utterly bewildered.

A Double Take in Times Square

To celebrate the creation, the museum posted a photograph on Instagram showing the real Jeff Goldblum standing beside his new doppelgänger. The image presented a formidable challenge, prompting followers to scrutinise the comments in a desperate attempt to determine which figure was the living, breathing movie star and which was the meticulously crafted life-size statue.

One of the figures was clad head-to-toe in black, including a leather jacket, instantly evoking memories of Goldblum's iconic role as Dr. Ian Malcolm in Jurassic Park. The other sported a sophisticated white ensemble with a long, flowing overcoat, a look reminiscent of his recent part as the Wizard of Oz in the highly anticipated Wicked movies.

Social Media Baffled by the Resemblance

The online reaction was one of pure disbelief. One incredulous fan commented, 'this is the best madame tussaud i’ve ever seen. i legit don’t know which is the real one.' Another admitted, 'Shoot I really had to look closely to see which one is the real one and I’m still not sure?!' adding that the reveal was 'iconic.'

The consensus was clear: Madame Tussauds had outdone itself. 'It’s actually really good. I had to do a double take to confirm which was the statue,' wrote one observer, while a third simply exclaimed, 'Good job! Couldn't tell which was the real him.' The confusion was so widespread that one user confessed, 'Went to the comments to see which was the real one. Had to google since nobody here could tell...'

The Grand Reveal and a Playful Interview

So, which was which? The mystery was solved at the statue's unveiling in Times Square this week, before the waxwork makes its permanent home in Orlando. The real Jeff Goldblum is the one dressed in white, captured with his hand raised thoughtfully to his chin. The unbelievably realistic waxwork is the one wearing the all-black outfit.

The resemblance was intensified by a perfect accessory choice: the real Goldblum wore a pair of thick-rimmed, black-tinted spectacles that were an exact match for the ones on his wax counterpart.

Never one to miss a comedic opportunity, Goldblum conducted a mock interview with his silent statue. He plugged his upcoming film, asking the figure, 'How does it feel to have another Wicked movie coming out?' Reflecting on the experience with Variety, the actor recalled being mistaken for other people early in his career and joked that visitors might now confuse his waxwork for 'Harry Ramis from Ghostbusters' or 'Bowzer from Sha Na Na.'

He expressed his delight at the honour, musing that perhaps his old school friends from Pittsburgh would see it and remark, 'That guy gets a statue? Wow, okay, there you go.' The Earth Girls Are Easy star concluded that he felt 'a great honour' at being immortalised by Madame Tussauds.
