Huge I'm A Celeb 'rupture' in camp revealed by host Dec Donnelly after Adam Thomas exploded at Jimmy Bullard when the former footballer deliberately quit the trial before it started. The fall out caused real damage in the camp, say the hosts.
Adam confronts Jimmy after he backs out of trial
Adam Thomas and Jimmy Bullard's jungle eruption has caused a fracture in camp, host Dec Donnelly said just a day before what could be a tense live finale. The pair became heated amid Adam's expletive-filled attack on the footballer, with the angry scenes forcing hosts Ant and Dec to step in. Actor Adam was left furious that Jimmy didn't appear to care that quitting the trial before it began would mean the end of his I'm A Celebrity adventure too.
Jimmy decided to duck out of the Rancid Run trial knowing what it meant for them both and despite saying sorry, Adam demanded to know why, asking him: “Are you f***ing taking the p***?” The pair then exchanged insults with Jimmy's refusal to do the trial meaning they would both be sent home.
Hosts address the fiery clash on podcast
Speaking on the I’m A Celebrity… Unpacked! podcast, the hosts have been addressing the fiery clash, described as the programme's biggest ever. Dec appeared to take Jimmy's side but they both think there's damage been done following the latest row. Dec said: “It’s caused quite a big rupture, I think, in all the relationships in there. It was such a big thing to happen that you can’t just sweep this under the carpet or let it go or forget it.”
The star went on: “You can kind of understand Adam reacting the way he did because, like we say, he’d only just caught a break and he was having a nice time. He wanted to stay as long as he possibly could. But, on the other hand, you don’t know what people are going through in their own heads, mentally where Jimmy was, and what people have got going on in their own heads. So, you can’t fault Jimmy for that.”
Insiders claim Jimmy remains upset
Insiders claim it is Jimmy who still remains upset by the spat even now, several months after the spin-off was pre-recorded in South Africa. The source said: "Jimmy is devastated by it all, it was supposed to be a celebration of I'm A Celeb, but Adam appeared to have let his temper get the better of him." They said Jimmy, who played football for Wigan Athletic and Fulham among other sides, is "seething" following the argument.
But will Jimmy turn up for tomorrow's live finale? We're about to find out. He's already suggested he will be there as the winner is confirmed during the Friday night broadcast from London.
Sinitta claims C-word was shouted
As the fallout from the incident continued to make headlines, singer Sinitta took to Instagram on Wednesday. According to the singer, who is also featuring in the series, the C-word was shouted during the argument. Sinitta said: "There was a big argument, I can hear c-word, c-word, shouting c-word, you c-word. What on earth is going on? And I'm also thinking - can we get on with the race because I'm winning? I'm literally frozen in position like ready to carry on from where we've left off, but no. And it's this massive fight and, of course, it was one of these things that if whoever lost the game, the team were off the show so Adam and Jimmy are going and I suddenly think, wait a minute this isn't fair."
In the comments section of Sinitta's post, former Soccer AM host Jimmy not only claimed that the full argument was not shown, but that he will be attending the final after all. "Wow thanks @thesinittaofficial shame that wasn't shown! My version will be told Friday! Can't wait to see you all....well some of yous," he wrote.
I’M A CELEBRITY… SOUTH AFRICA airs on weeknights at 9pm on ITV.
