Gethin Jones Returns to BBC Morning Live Friday for Festive Finale
Gethin Jones confirms BBC Morning Live return date

BBC Morning Live presenter Gethin Jones has given fans the news they've been waiting for, confirming the date he will be back on the popular daytime show.

Pantomime Break Comes to an End

The Welsh television star has been absent from his usual presenting duties alongside co-host Helen Skelton while he performs in the pantomime Sleeping Beauty at Cardiff's New Theatre. Jones is playing the role of Prince Gethin of Gabalfa, a commitment which required a temporary step back from the BBC One programme.

In a video update shared from Cardiff city centre, Jones provided a cheerful insight into his panto life, stating his back was holding up through "very boring rehab" and praising the amazing cast and crew. He humorously noted, "All going well I haven't been booed off yet, I see that as a positive."

Festive Return and Christmas Break Schedule

Jones has now revealed his broadcasting schedule, delivering a mix of good and bittersweet news for viewers. He confirmed he will be back in the Morning Live studio this Friday, 19 December, for a special festive edition where he will reunite with Helen Skelton.

However, this comeback also signals the show's impending hiatus. Friday's episode will be the final Morning Live broadcast of the year. The programme will then take a two-week break over the Christmas holidays.

"I'll be hosting on Friday with Hel. It's the last Morning Live of the year," Jones explained. "Then it's a two week break and then we're back on January the fifth." He detailed a busy schedule, performing two panto shows in Cardiff on Sunday before travelling back for the new series.

Fan Reaction and Future Plans

Followers of the show were quick to express their delight at the presenter's imminent return to their screens. One fan commented, "Looking forward to seeing you on ML Friday. Safe journey to and from. In the meantime, break a leg and mind the back." Another supporter added, "Although Panto time is great it will be good to see you on Friday."

With his panto run reaching its halfway point by the time he appears on Morning Live, Jones is set for a busy festive period leading straight into the show's return in the new year.
