Support from Home and Fans

His announcement was quickly celebrated by his wife, Amy Walsh, who stars as Tracy Robinson in ITV's Emmerdale. Walsh re-posted the news on her own Instagram Story, adding the excited comment: "How exciting." The couple, who are parents to a daughter named Bonnie and are expecting another child, have been married since 2022.

Fans and followers also flooded the comments with enthusiastic support. Responses ranged from simple "Awesome" and "Great" with heart-eyed emojis, to more personal messages like "Go on Tobes". One particularly thrilled fan noted the casting of another soap alum, writing: "You AND @jacob_w_young? I'm sold. As a lifelong EastEnders and All My Children fan, this has me so excited!"

From Walford Villain to Period Dramas

Toby-Alexander Smith played the villainous Gray Atkins in EastEnders from 2019 to 2022. His character's reign of terror involved the murders of his wife Chantelle (Jessica Plummer), Tina Carter (Luisa Bradshaw-White), and Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami), as well as abusing his new wife, Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams).

His storyline culminated in a nail-biting climax where he was finally exposed by Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) and arrested. Since leaving the soap, Smith has appeared in period dramas such as An American in Austen and Love Across Time.

The new film, A Murder Between Friends, is described as a classic whodunit in the style of Agatha Christie. It features a cast that includes Dynasty legend Joan Collins. The plot follows six friends whose holiday at a country estate turns deadly when one of them is murdered, sparking a tense investigation to uncover the killer among them.
