Emmerdale Star Teases Explosive Revenge Plot as Moira Discovers Truth
Emmerdale actress Natalie J Robb has hinted at a deadly revenge storyline for her character Moira Dingle, targeting the villainous Joe Tate in a dramatic gun showdown. Robb suggested Moira "could kill him" as the plot unfolds, revealing intense scenes ahead for the ITV soap.
Moira's Discovery and Rage-Filled Response
The dramatic turn begins when Robert Sugden confesses his involvement in Moira's wrongful arrest for Celia Daniels' drugs and human trafficking crimes. As Robert explains the truth, Moira learns that Joe Tate was blackmailing both Robert and Victoria Sugden, forcing their cooperation.
Moira's anger intensifies when she realizes Joe played a significant role in her imprisonment for a double murder she didn't commit. "She's left even more rage-filled," Robb explained, setting the stage for a confrontation that leads directly to a gun showdown at Home Farm.
The Confrontation and Near-Deadly Moment
Robb detailed how Moira's suspicions grow when Robert behaves unusually, eventually confessing his actions under Joe's coercion. "She goes ballistic," the actress revealed, noting Moira's particular hurt because she believed Robert had genuinely changed as a person.
Without consulting her husband Cain, who's preoccupied with an argument, Moira takes matters into her own hands. "Good old Moira style, she gets her shotgun and goes to visit Joe Tate," Robb described. "Literally at that point, she's going round there to kill him."
During the confrontation, Moira forces Joe to sit while holding him at gunpoint, demanding a confession. Though Joe attempts to play dumb, Moira knows the truth about his manipulations. While she ultimately doesn't pull the trigger, she makes a solemn vow: "She swears to him that she will make it her priority to make his life a living hell. Or a non-living one…"
Moira's Calculated Risks and Emotional State
Robb explained why Moira chooses not to involve Cain in her discovery about Robert's betrayal. "She thinks if he finds out, he's going to go ballistic and do something stupid," the actress said. Having just been released from prison herself, Moira wants to prevent Cain from facing similar consequences while protecting their marriage from larger issues.
When asked if Moira considers the possibility of returning to prison during the gun confrontation, Robb responded: "I don't think she cares at that point." The actress described Moira's emotional state as fueled by anger over Joe keeping her from her children during Cain's cancer battle and his cruel pursuit of power. "At that point she's definitely going there to kill him and she nearly does," Robb revealed.
Future Developments and Character Dynamics
Regarding Joe Tate's future, Robb teased: "He's going to be under her radar." While the exact direction remains uncertain depending on writing decisions, the actress confirmed that during filming, "it was pretty certain that she was going to get him back in some way or another."
Moira plans to collaborate with others to ensure Joe suffers similarly by losing everything, particularly his power. "She does team up with people to get him to suffer in a similar way," Robb explained, promising viewers will see the consequences unfold.
The actress also addressed Moira's evolving relationship with Kim Tate following their prison heart-to-heart. While they maintain their characteristic conflicts, they've developed mutual respect, particularly after Kim recognized what the farm meant to Moira. "It really opens Kim's eyes," Robb noted, suggesting this respect will persist in the background despite ongoing fights, many likely stemming from Joe's actions.
Emmerdale continues to air weeknights at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with this revenge storyline promising dramatic developments in the coming episodes.
