In an exclusive preview, the BBC has released a first look at the upcoming episode of Death In Paradise, teasing what could be the most challenging case yet for DI Mervin Wilson and his team. The episode, which has been taken off its usual airing schedule, will now broadcast next week due to a schedule change, but fans can catch it early on BBC iPlayer tonight.
A Puzzling Murder Mystery Unfolds
The new episode, titled season 15 episode three, centers on the mysterious death of a retired pensioner found shot in his home under unusual circumstances. Mervin and the team are left baffled as they investigate who would want to kill this reclusive hermit. A prime suspect quickly emerges: an unassuming accountant whose description matches a witness account of someone fleeing the crime scene.
However, the case takes a complex turn when the suspect presents a rock-solid alibi, leaving the detectives questioning his involvement. In a clip from the episode, DI Mervin Wilson and DS Naomi Thomas confront the accountant about a moped linked to the scene, which he was seen cleaning. He claims he drove past the villa looking for directions but found no one to help, raising doubts about his truthfulness.

Don Gilet, who plays DI Mervin Wilson, commented on the new addition, saying, "There's definitely something of a rebel in Mattie. We haven't had that rebellious element, really. She's a bit younger, probably a similar age to Officer Seb Rose, but she's seen a lot more. She’s a sergeant and she’s more experienced and is always on the front foot, whereas Seb is going through his rookie stripes. It’s great seeing how the two of them connect – there’s a nurturing side as well as a rebellious side. She’s a great addition to the team."
