A brutal murder is set to shock the cobbles of Coronation Street in April, and dedicated fans believe they have cracked the case of which character will meet a gruesome end. The speculation has intensified following a recent flashforward episode that confirmed the victim will be one of five residents: Maggie Driscoll, Megan Walsh, Jodie Ramsey, Carl Webster, or Theo Silverton.
Shifting Theories Away from Initial Suspects
Initially, many viewers were convinced that child groomer Megan Walsh would be the one to die, with theories suggesting that fellow rumoured victim Maggie Driscoll might be her killer. Maggie herself was also a strong contender to be the victim. However, a new theory has emerged that disregards these earlier ideas, pointing instead to Carl Webster as the likely target.
This shift in focus stems from a potential clue hidden within the flashforward scenes. Fans have noted that Carl appears with a massive bruise on the left side of his face and is holding his bag on his left side. While this could simply be due to camera positioning during filming, some enthusiasts interpret it as a deliberate hint.

One fan elaborated on the theory, stating, "From what I've worked out, Carl has the longest list of potential killers based on the amount of bridges he's burned since his arrival on the scene. We also know that he's set to have a severe black eye and bruising along the left side of his face, while carrying a bag that suggests he is trying to leave." Another viewer agreed, adding, "I saw a theory somewhere that it’s Carl because his LEFT eye is black and he has the bag on his LEFT shoulder … so he’s LEFT the show.
