Christine Lampard's 'Guilty' Confession on This Morning Amid Host Shake-Up
Christine Lampard's 'Guilty' This Morning Confession

Television presenter Christine Lampard has confessed to experiencing a pang of guilt while stepping in to host ITV's This Morning this week. The Loose Women star has been filling in alongside Dermot O'Leary after the scheduled co-host, Emma Willis, fell ill.

A Delicious Dilemma on Set

During the show's cookery segment on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, chef Nisha Katona whipped up a butter bean and cranberry tikka masala. As she savoured the dish, the programme checked in with Loose Women, which was broadcasting from the adjacent studio. Christine admitted to feeling somewhat bad about indulging while her regular panellists were left watching.

"When I am doing Loose Women, we are always jealous watching you cooking and we are sitting there going, 'We want that.' And here I am," she remarked. Introducing Loose Women's Kaye Adams, she added with a laugh, "I know, I know, I'm sorry! I feel guilty, but I'm going to carry on!" Kaye encouraged her to simply enjoy the meal, which Christine declared was "absolutely beautiful."

Behind the Week's Presenter Changes

The hosting line-up for the popular daytime show underwent a last-minute change this week. While Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard typically front the programme from Monday to Thursday, with Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond taking over on Fridays, holiday periods often see a rotation of guest presenters.

Emma Willis was originally slated to host with Dermot O'Leary but had to pull out due to illness. On Monday's episode (15 December), Dermot explained the situation to viewers, stating, "Full disclosure. Emma Willis was supposed to be in this week. Emma is a little bit poorly. So we are sending her big love."

He then introduced Josie Gibson, who has been co-hosting alongside Christine Lampard to cover the week. The pair are part of a regular pool of stand-in hosts that also includes Rochelle Humes.

Balancing Two ITV Giants

The incident highlights the interconnected world of ITV daytime television, where presenters often work across multiple flagship shows. Christine Lampard's playful guilt stemmed from her dual role, enjoying a culinary treat on one programme while her usual team on another looked on enviously.

Both This Morning and Loose Women continue to air daily on ITV, with their flexible hosting rosters ensuring the show goes on even when last-minute changes are required.
